The Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv is recruiting a locally employed communications officer/political officer.  

The vacant position is full time (100%). You will work partly with communications, partly with political issues. Good knowledge of, and a good stylistic ability in Ukrainian and English are required. The successful applicant will start is as soon as possible.

Duties and responsibilities

You will work independently under the supervision of the officer responsible for communications and the officer responsible for political issues.

Duties include:

• draft and coordinate the embassy’s external communications, including the embassy’s digital channels;
• build and maintain contacts with mass media;
• analyse trends in political and economic developments in Ukraine, and produce reports in English.

Your background

The embassy is looking for an officer with extensive experience of communications, research and structured use of social media. An extensive network of contacts within the Ukrainian media sector is desirable.

Your personal qualities

As a communications officer at the embassy, you are required to be outgoing, able to establish and maintain external relationships, and able to cope with stress. You should have good stylistic ability and experience of independent news gathering and of compiling content for publication through various channels.
