Project HOPE in Ukraine Private Funded Program Portfolio is focused on next major components:
- Equipment, Pharma, Medical Supply for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health facilities
- Capacity building for the health care workers including specialized training programs.
- Support in renovation of Health care facilities and other crucial community facilities to strengthen community resilience and decrease workload on other health facilities.
- Improving IPC/WASH standards within Health Facilities and facilities serving affected population
- Supporting establishment of Mobile Medical Units with Ukraine Health system to establish better access to healthcare services to affected populations and vulnerable groups.
- Strengthening community cohesion and resilience with big influx of IDPs
- MHPSS support to health care workers and affected population and vulnerable groups
- Emergency Response to healthcare needs in case of crisis escalation
Position Purpose
Research & Grants Coordinator/Manager play a pivotal role in crafting compelling proposals for projects spanning health, protection, livelihoods, recovery, and direct humanitarian aid, including Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter/Non-Food Items (NFIs), and other vital areas. The Research & Grants Coordinator/ Manager in Ukraine ensures that all program decisions are well informed and adjusted to the up-to-date context. Provides operational support in the private funded programs of Project HOPE, is responsible for collecting information and data necessary for programs concepts development and reports preparation for donors and PH senior management, collects and analyzes external reports, information disseminated on humanitarian coordination meetings and information from relevant government bodies which can help improve programs decision-making. [Travel required up to 50% of the time]
Ability to travel internationally is preferable
Location: could based on Kyiv, Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv
Main Responsibilities
- Writing project proposals in the areas of Health, Protection, Livelihoods, Recovery, Direct Humanitarian Aid (WASH, Shelter/NFIs)
- Research and identify funding prospects for Project HOPE to inform when best to make approaches.
- Research and identify Institutional Donors
- Research, monitor and evaluate issues that are of interest to donors.
- Research of current legal and legislative structure that regulates problems and topics of the Donor calls for proposals.
- Provide strategic and proactive proposal writing expertise to Project HOPE members.
- Write high quality concept notes and full grant applications which are effective in securing funds from governmental and private donor. Coordinates and consults with existing team in Ukraine and HQ during proposal writing process for better technical accuracy.
- Maintain currency of knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations and procedures, disseminate and/or present changes to departments and advises on the implementation of changes and on the impact of changes on funded operations.
- Learns the requirements of Donors and provides narrative reports according to the requirements.
- Provides coordination of Gift in Kind Donors with relevant program officers and health coordinators, prepares Gift in Kind request with narrative, coordinates Gift in Kind preparation of humanitarian aid distribution lists, ensures all visibility requirements are fulfilled, ensures photography is organized, collects stories about facilities and beneficiaries of the facilities where humanitarian aid was distributed.
- Collects and keeps program information organized and ready to be provided upon request (narratives, success stories, photos, videos, statistical and monitoring data)
- Searches and collects data from open sources about all groups of beneficiaries and their issues, active NGOs and their projects for beneficiaries, available Government Services for beneficiaries, operations of municipal organizations that provide services for beneficiaries.
- Prepares Official letters of request of information and statistical data to relevant Government bodies.
- Actively participates in external coordination meetings and briefings, summarizes discussion points relevant to Program developments.
- Actively participates in preparation and conducting Program Monitoring and needs assessment visits, gathers, and analyzes info, provides recommendations both for current program improvement and for new programs that can be implemented.
- Build strong relationships with potential supporters, ensuring the maximum likelihood of success.
Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in directly relevant area required, Master’s degree preferred, additional legal background will be an asset, successful experience of USAID, ECHO, GIZ, FCDO funded proposal writing is highly preferred
Years of Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience is required
Experience in working and negotiating with Corporate Donors and International Charitable Foundations is highly desirable
Technical Skills :
- Project management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (advanced skills).
- Proficiency with computers both in word processing and data gathering spreadsheet programs, with presentation and report writing capability.
- Strong coordination and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or other donor databases is desirable.
Language: Ukrainian – fluent; Russian – fluent. Fluency in English and excellent writing skills are required. Minimum English requirement: B2/C1
Position salary: 67000 - 100000 UAH
