Project manager SR MDO for the project 2023-2026
Background
With financial assistance from Sida/Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv, SR MDO and Suspilne are cooperating to strengthen Suspilne in its further development and with a specific focus on regionalisation of Public service and digital development in Ukraine. The total cooperation has an initial life span of over 5 years already and cooperation planned to be ongoing for 3 more years.
The Project Manager’s role
The role refers to employment 100% full time as Project Manager with the project, based in Kyiv.
The Project Manager’s responsibility is to ensure that the planning, development, implementation, monitoring and follow up of the project move forward and is performed in accordance with the Agreement. The project’s objectives and expected results, including its results based management matrix (RBM), risk mitigation, and annual work plans.
The role implies a systematic work process influenced by agile methodology.
An integrated part in the role as Project manager is to cooperate with the Project Manager (SR MDO Swedish team), the Project assistant and Project Manager from the Suspilne side. The Project manager is responsible for contacts and interaction inside the company Suspilne and with the third parties/ vendors as well as for networking with other actors of relevance for the benefit of the Project cooperation.
All communication (spoken and written) in the international project will be in English so excellent skills -both oral and written -in English and Ukrainian are needed to communicate and when needed to interpret between all parties.
The contract is for 3 years with a probationary period of 3 months.
Responsibility:
That implies planning, development, implementation, documentation, monitoring and follow up of the Project cooperation in line with the Project Agreement between Sida/Embassy of Sweden and SR MDO and the MoU between the three parties. The Project manager reports to the Project Manager from SR MDO as well as to the Chairman of the Steering committee.
Required qualifications:
Experience in Project Management.
Experience with narrative reporting development for international/national organizations and projects.
Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Previous experience working in an international environment is desired.
Substantial understanding of the media context in Ukraine will be an advantage.
Main tasks:
Planning, development and implementation including drafting of annual work plans.
Work collaboratively with the Project managers and the team to maximize productivity, contributing to the entire project lifecycle.
Monitoring and follow up: Regular and close follow-up as well as formal follow up in line with Agreement such as Steering committee meetings, project meetings, annual meetings, assist with internal and external monitoring.
Actively work with risk management and RBM outcome matrix.
Reporting: Monthly and annual progress reporting, i.e. drafting of annual narrative reports in line with established templates, reporting to the Ukrainian authorities.
Cooperate closely and effectively with the Project Manager from SR MDO and Project assistant as a team for the benefit of the planning, development, implementation, monitoring and follow-up of the Project cooperation.
Coach, delegate tasks and follow-up of Project assistant’s work.
Apply an agile development approach to the project cooperation, engage and motivate project participants.
Deliver on time, within budget and with quality.
Arrangements of study visits and capacity building activities both in Ukraine and abroad.
When requested, participate in donor coordination meetings/technical coordination meetings.
When requested, participate in relevant networks and inform about the Project cooperation as needed.
