Fundacja TechSoup (headquartered in Warsaw) oversees the design and implementation of TechSoup programs, particularly in Europe. Position Summary
The Director of FTS Organisation Development and Operations position is for someone who wants to work in a fast-growing, dynamic international organization on a transformational journey, and with evolving strategies and matrixed structure.
The position is that of a hands-on and participative manager who leads and develops an internal team and business infrastructure to support our programmatic growth. You should be open to new ideas, hands-on and committed to a creation of an inclusive culture.
The Director of FTS Organization Development and Operations will be a member of the FTS Executive Team, collaborating closely with FTS Executive Team and TechSoup Global Leadership around the world. You are a thought leader for the organisation and trusted partner to the executive team. The Director will be leading the People and Culture, and overseeing legal, administration and finance functions. He/she/they will lead activities to support organizational improvement and change, such as enterprise process improvement/change management (current and future processes) and organizational design to help foster a culture of innovation.
This position requires an experienced professional who understands how to build dynamic, sustainable, and trusted teams.
He/she/they should have prior experience in HR, finance, and legal functions, preferably in the non-profit sector.
The position reports to TechSoup VP Europe.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead organizational development in collaboration with the FTS Executive Team (including setting up objectives, annual priorities, and KPIs); drive execution and operational excellence; contribute to enterprise objectives and key results with a focus on building dynamic, diverse teams, and an inclusive and sustainable working culture.
• Manage FTS's People and Culture, Finance, and Administrative teams, as well as ensure compliance with Polish and global laws.
• Collaborate with the leadership members to help develop and implement the internal communications strategies. These communications can help FTS staff better understand organizational strategies, and support and mentor line managers on how to manage employee performance and professional development, as well as interpret FTS policies to employees.
• Work with employees to support their work and professional development.
• Model his/her own leadership to create and promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
• Collaborate closely with TechSoup's legal teams as well as outsourced legal firms to ensure the legal security of operations.
• Collaborate with the US team to comprehend and implement Global Policies.
• Evaluate organizational effectiveness standards to identify opportunities for process improvements and the adoption of best practices across the FTS.
• Create, promote, and enforce consistent office and financial/administrative management policies and guidelines; keep accurate records.
• Ensure that enterprise strategies, requirements, and governance are met.
• Lead works on organization’s annual reports
• Collaborate with other functional areas where required
• Engage with or lead special projects, as directed by VP of TechSoup Europe, or other TechSoup Executives; prepare executive reports and presentations when needed and in collaboration with other leaders.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• At least 7 years of management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• MBA or other advanced degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in developing people, mentoring, and coaching others and leading the team effectively.
• Experience in leading the change and motivate people to change the mindset.
• Comprehensive financial acumen, experience of P&L, Balance Sheets, coupled with a proven ability to review and analyze financial reports, complex information, and data.
• Proven track record of effectively interacting with Senior Management Team.
• Significant professional experience working internationally.
• Experience working in a matrixed environment preferred.
Knowledge
• Familiarity with Polish laws and HR functions.
• Solid understanding of various aspects of finance, HR, and administration.
• Familiarity with European and international business policies and norms.
• Experience developing and evaluating business metrics and key performance indicators (KPI’s).
Skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic organization with changing priorities.
• Attuned to multi-cultural environments and skilled at engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across organisation (top and bottom line).

• Strong leadership skills - proven ability to establish relationships and lead discussions with various partners and executives.
• Positive growing mindset, self-confidence, and adaptability to changing environment.

• Comfortable with collaboration and matrixed reporting structures.
• Strong demonstration of leadership skills. Ability to build leadership credibility.
• Ability to manage and motivate staff across different internal and cross-organizational groups to achieve high levels of performance
• Ability to manage change in a dynamic and fluid environment and positively implement it
• Fluency in English, and Polish, both oral and written communications.
