This communications internship is a part-time paid internship. This role requires an energetic, dedicated and detail-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks, under supportive managerial guidance. This individual must be a team-player with an entrepreneurial problem-solving spirit, willingness to learn and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Ideal candidate is a recent university graduate, or graduate student in journalism, communications, political science, international relations, public relations, marketing, digital filmmaking, digital media, graphic design, or a related field.
Responsibilities:
Applicants will provide support in the following areas. As no single applicant is likely to have all of the following skills, applicants with experience in at least 2-3 of these areas, and a willingness to expand their skill set should feel comfortable applying. Further training opportunities may be provided for personal and professional development.
Social Media:
Draft and organize social media content to promote media coverage on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and possibly Instagram
Contribute to social media quantitative and qualitative analytics reporting
Create and coordinate content for social media campaigns and observances
Monitor and research trending topics and tools
General social media planning, research, reporting and coordination as assigned
Writing and Editing:
Project descriptions
Copyediting
Article and op ed drafting
Press releases and media advisories
Photo, Video and Graphics:
Edit and format photos and videos for social media and web
Photo, video and audio editing
Gifs, animations and graphic designs
Digital asset management
Use of simple design software like Canva
Media Relation
Prepare media reports on assigned subjects
Help compile and update media contact lists
Identify and research opportunities to share campaign’s updates with relevant journalists and media outlets.
Assist with press release/media advisory writing, editing, distribution, and media outreach
Assist with media interview scheduling and coordination
Assist with scheduling and coordinating of photo/video shoots
General:
Media event coordination and organizing
Requirements:
Experience in creating social media content
Resilience and ability to consistently meet deadlines under sometimes quickly evolving situations
Proficient computer skills and prior experience or aptitude with internet applications
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with fluency in English.
Ability to write well for a variety of audiences and platforms and to distill complex policy, political, and scientific concepts into clear, understandable, and persuasive language
Proven ability to work independently, as well as in close coordination with a remote team.
Willingness to contribute to the development of the new organization
Comfort and experience working remotely.
Have an excellent command of English (at least C1 level) and Ukrainian.
Desirable:
● Good working knowledge of software including Google-Suite, Slack, Asana, WordPress, Zoom, Instagram, TikTok, media monitoring platforms like Meltwater or Cision
● A passion for action on climate change and a commitment to social justice and peace
● Experience and knowledge in climate change and/or fossil fuel campaigns
● Have a good understanding of Central Eastern European political and social realities
