Finance Assistant

Project Summary:

The Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions (SACCI) Program in Ukraine is a six-year USAID initiative that has an objective to assist Ukraine to reduce corruption and increase the accountability and transparency of governance in Ukraine. The program seeks to empower key government institutions to fight corruption, build public support for and engagement in anti-corruption efforts, and reduce citizen tolerance to corruption. SACCI works with the wide spectrum of anti-corruption stakeholders, including the specialized anti-corruption bodies, governmental institutions at national and local levels, the private sector, and civil society watchdog organizations. SACCI seeks to promote transparency and accountability during the time of the Russia’s aggression and the Ukraine reconstruction efforts.

Position Summary:

The Finance Assistant will provide support with HR and financial management tasks, including reporting, bookkeeping, payments, projections, payroll, petty cash management, and recruitment/onboarding. This position will directly report to SACCI Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) and closely collaborate with the Finance Manager. This is the fulltime position for a period of 12 months with a possible extension of up to 6 months.



     •   Assist DFA and Finance Manager in preparation of project financial reports.

     •   Scan and file accounting documents.

     •   Assist Finance Manager with payments to vendors, as well as ensure proper stewardship and accounting of funds for in-kind cash grants, other program activities and program operations.

     •   Review short-term consultants’ timesheets and prepare acts of acceptance in a timely manner, ensuring that requested amounts are in line with service agreements.

     •   Assist in VAT exemption procedure.

     •   Support Procurement Specialist in market research efforts, identifying and qualifying potential suppliers.

     •   Support execution of purchase orders, subcontracts and modifications.

     •   Provide support for travel arrangement, events logistics, and procurements.

     •   Assist with implementing other tasks as requested by Director of Finance and Administration.

     •   Other duties as assigned.



     •   Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration or other relevant area is required.

     •   Minimum one year of technical experience is required.

     •   Experience with collection and analysis of accounting data.

     •   Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.

     •   Strong oral and written communication skills.

     •   Fluency in Ukrainian and intermediate fluency in English is required.
