INTRODUCTION
The Right to Protection (R2P) is a leading human rights NGO that works comprehensively to solve problems related to migration, its causes and consequences - seeking a candidate to fill the position of Database Specialist.
POSITION’S OVERALL OBJECTIVES
The position will operate within the project “Emergency Protection Response for Conflict-Affected Populations in Ukraine” implemented with the financial assistance of GOAL and Irish Aid.
The Database Specialist reports to the Information Management Officer and works closely with the Information Management Unit and project staff.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, manages, analyses and coordinates project’s information systems, computer-based applications and databases, web-based tools;
Maintains all the project’s information management systems and tools, including database support;
Supports the design and validation of data collection tools (forms, questionnaires, etc.);
Develops the description of processes (text and graphic), and evaluates their efficiency;
Develops the proposals for the process revision, optimization, and automation;
Provides training on the implementation and use of project’s database to staff/partners involved in data collection and analysis and users of results;
Acts as a technical focal point in all relevant initiatives in the field of project’s information management;
Effectively communicates with project coordinators and provides them with communications support; collects all available information and expertise and ensures effective functioning of all the project’s web-sources;
Participates in and facilitates projects trainings and workshops as appropriate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information systems or related field;
Practical experience in reports and dashboards development (determining data sources, processing data, developing and using reporting forms);
Data-processing skills (processing, structuring, analysis)
Practical experience in process description, modelling, and analysis;
Excellent knowledge of process description notations, process analysis tools;
Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy;
Skilled in all aspects of the development and operation of information systems.;
Familiarity with Ukrainian society, institutions, and agencies;
Reasonable familiarity with humanitarian themes such as displacement, education, shelter, food security and nutrition, health, livelihoods, protection, water, sanitation and hygiene;
Excellent Ukrainian, Russian and English language proficiency;
Ability to design, manage, analyse and coordinate complex information system projects, computer-based applications and databases, web-based tools;
Strong analytical skills;
Ability to work in a team.
