1.   BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The NATO Liaison Office, NATO Representation to Ukraine in Kyiv represents NATO in Ukraine, facilitates political-military dialogue and practical cooperation under the NATO-Ukraine Commission in support of Ukraine’s efforts to join NATO, and enhances civil and military cooperation between NATO and the Government of Ukraine in support of Euro-Atlantic integration goals described in the Annual National Programme, Individual Tailored Partnership Programme, Planning and Review Process.

Military Career Transition Programme (MCT) is an integrated part of the NATO Liaison Office to Ukraine (NLO), aimed at assisting Ukraine in developing and implementing a sustainable, effective and integrated system of military career transition and resettlement of professional military service leavers as embedded in the personnel management function of the AFU and other participating state organs with military formations. MCT Programme is also contributing to the development of institutional capacity of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and veterans’ community resilience through cooperation activities with veterans’ CSOs. 

This announcement presents a challenging opportunity for highly motivated students/recent graduates to support MCT Programme in implementing its activities in Ukraine.

2.    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Applicants should have university level studies or equivalent education (preferably in International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, Law or a related discipline) and must have obtained their highest qualification not more than 1 year preceding the submission of their application.
  • Professional fluency in Ukrainian and English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, experience in drafting documents and presentations.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, social media).
  • Ability to work in organized manner, meet deadlines and work in a team.
  • Applicants should hold a valid work permit.

3.    SCOPE OF WORK AND RELATED DUTIES

  • Support day-to-day implementation of assigned projects and Programme related activities.
  • Perform administrative functions in accordance with the Programme’s objectives.
  • Provide organizational and logistic support to meetings and visits, as requested.
  • Conduct written and oral business communications.
  • Attend meetings, take notes and draft reports.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing official letters and documents.
  • Perform research and analysis tasks.
  • Translate documents into English/Ukrainian.
  • Maintain up-to-date internal paper and electronic files.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Successful candidate will be offered a stipend which is not exempted from taxation and will be expected to make a commitment of not less than 6 months.

The selected candidate will have to undergo security and suitability vetting as a condition of appointment before commencing the position. The selected candidate will be required to provide evidence that they have health and accident insurance coverage for the period of their traineeship.

5.   DEADLINE
