The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) is a non-profit organization working to strengthen democracy worldwide. NDI programs are supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), UK, Sweden, Canada, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and other donors. NDI and its partners have been working in Ukraine since 1992.
Position Summary: The National Democratic Institute (NDI) seeks an Intern to support the countering disinformation program in Ukraine. The intern will be responsible for providing logistical and administrative support for the implementation of program activities. These positions require a high degree of discretion, strong organizational skills, good judgement, and an interest in information environment analysis. Working proficiency in English is required.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide logistical support for online meetings, trainings, workshops and other events as required;
Assist with and provide back-up for the day-to-day operations of the program, responding to routine program inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate forwarding of messages;
Assist in reconciliation of expenditures in accordance with NDI’s financial policies;
Observe program supported activities;
Assist in preparation and drafting of activity reports and briefing notes;
Provide written translation of program materials;
Monitor political and other developments in the country;and
Carry out other assigned tasks related to program activities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent university graduate; relevant degree programs might include, but are not limited to: Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Law or Linguistics;
Ability to demonstrate a keen interest in the topics of disinformation and media landscape;
Ability to work both independently and as a constructive member of a team.
Critical and analytical thinking skills.
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.
Working knowledge of Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, G+, etc.).
