UNDP is also supporting the Government of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health to adequately respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, and recover forward from the emergency better and greener by focusing on crisis coordination and management, supply of personal protection equipment to frontline medical workers, and identification of needs and priorities for emergency interventions. UNDP brings its extensive expertise in establishing the procurement system that corresponds to the highest standards of transparency, accountability, anti-corruption, cost-efficiency, equity and sustainability, including the application of UNDP’s Quality Assurance (QA) Policy (2018) for all health products supplied by UNDP, which is in line with international best practice. UNDP together with other UN Agencies (UNICEF and WHO) developed a Project aimed at strengthening the national health care procurement system and thereby improving the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment of the patients of Ukraine. Specifically, in the framework of the project, UNDP (i) procures medicines and medical products for the National Public Health Programmes for 2019 and ongoing years as needed, (ii) strengthens the capacity of the Ministry of Health to ensure transparency, accountability and effectiveness of the public procurement of medicines and other medical products. Besides the procurement services to the Ministry of Health, the Health and Transparency Programme consists of three major components directly linked to providing procurement services to the Ministry of Health. These are: 1) establishing a transparent, efficient, sustainable and accountable public procurement system in the healthcare sector; 2) strengthening the capacity of the national Coordination Council on HIV/TB and 3) ensuring protection of human rights of key populations affected by HIV and TB. UNDP invites applications from highly qualified and experienced Ukrainian professionals for the post of Procurement Associate for the Project ”Procurement Support Services to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” (herein after referred to as Project).
