Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world.
DRC Ukraine is looking for a highly qualified LSG Assistant for it’s office based in Slovyansk.
Overall purpose of the role:
The LSG Assistant is responsible for providing technical and day-to-day support for implementing the LSG project activities. The LSG Assistant contributes towards supporting, cooperating and liaising with key stakeholders relevant to the project. The LSG Assistant is the LAU focal person responsible to comply with DRC procedures and guidelines on event management and procurement-related processes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support in the organization of the activities envisaged by the project;
- Support the LSG Officer in establishing liaison with key governmental and non-governmental stakeholders;
- Maintain contact lists and maintain correspondence with relevant stakeholders of the project;
- Support monitoring visits to the field to observe trends, gather data and facts to be used for advocacy and development of the project;
- Support the LSG Project Lead and the LSG Officer in activities related to the implementation of training activities under the LSG project;
- Be the focal person for the organization of all field-based networking events, round tables and other advocacy events;
- Cooperate with and act as the LAU focal person for liaising with DRC Logistic/Procurement teams;
- Support in drafting procurement-related documentation;
- Support with occasional document translation and provide interpretation support during meetings, trainings, and other project activities;
- Attend and participate in relevant coordination meetings of LAU, implementing partner, and other relevant stakeholders under the LSG project;
- Any other functions to be assigned by the LSG Project Lead in consultation with the position holder.
We expect from you at least 1-year experience in similar job, preferably in an NGO setting.
Required experience and competencies:
- Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification;
- Basic knowledge of livelihoods interventions in Ukrainian context, understanding of possible durable solutions for conflict-affected population;
- Good communication and organization skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;
- Background in law and human rights will be of advantage;
- Full working proficiency in both oral and written English, Ukrainian and Russian (equally important).
We offer
Contract length: till 31.03.2022 with the possibility of extension based on available funding.
