The Danish Cultural Institute and the Danish Youth Council are leading the establishment of the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House in Kyiv. The Youth House will strengthen the existing partnerships and develop new ones among the youth organizations of both countries. The Youth House is anticipated to be a multifunctional hub with facilities for different types of youth activities for its users and the secretariat of the house. The specific facilities in Kyiv are currently being identified with an expected opening date in the first half of 2021.
As the upstarting House manager, you will be working closely with the newly recruited Danish director of the house to establish and develop the house, its direction, space, networks and activities. You should be good at networking and process management, and interested in working in a start-up environment, where a large part of the initial work will be diverse with the full range of different tasks associated with the establishment of the house.
Some of your tasks will include:
- Supporting the set up of the house.
- Building and maintaining network and communication with youth organisations.
- Developing relevant house policies to facilitate, support and guide user engagement and use of the.
- Supporting start-up of the development and management of a micro-grant scheme for house users.
- Communicate about the Youth House and its activities to the users and stakeholders.
- Supporting the development and management of a micro-grant scheme for house users.
- Co-curating, planning, and managing house activities and projects into a coherent ongoing public youth program with youth culture, media, screenings, games and youth agenda-setting content in talks, dialogues, performances, workshops, events etc.
We expect that you:
- Have a relevant university degree.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience from similar positions.
- Have a good knowledge of, and ideally an active network, with Ukrainian youth organisations.
- Have strong experience with project development, cultural management, administrative management, and fundraising (including budgeting and reporting).
- Are fluent in Ukrainian and English, both written and verbally.
- Are used to coordinating, partnering and building the relations to succeed in the delivery of your tasks.
- Have an experience from working with civil society, youth culture, youth hubs, startups, youth capacity development, youth exchange programmes or other activities related to the Youth House project focus.
