NRC is looking for ICLA Community-Based Paralegal Network Assistant in our office in Kurakhove, Ukraine.

Job description:

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist with the implementation of the ICLA Programme according to plan of action; promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Contribute to identification of protection risks and needs in the context of the program implementation
  • Maintain constant communication with paralegals regarding Network activities
  • Provide secretarial support such as typing, taking minutes, drafting letters, etc.
  • Assist ICLA Community-Based Paralegal Network Coordinator in support/preparatory matters as requested
  • Provide inputs to the Workplan for the Network and propose amendments as relevant; highlight the bottlenecks identified during the preparation/implementation of the activities;
  • Assist in organizing and conducting the capacity-building activities according to the plans, project documentation and budgets;
  • Assist in the procurement processes;
  • Establish and maintain the monitoring system for monthly payments of compensation, phone, internet fees for paralegals activity, prepare requested documentation and confirm it with relevant staff;
  • Assist in running the quality control and monitoring system established for the Network activities;
  • Assist in conducting field visits to identify the paralegals/locations; monitor the implementation of the activities, liaise with stakeholders etc.;
  • Maintain the documentation and intake form system, including Volunteer agreements/Paralegals MoUs, entry of data from intake forms and photocopying and filing all the documents related to the Network activities according to the procedures approved;
  • Monitor, analyse and document issues of concern arising during the casework with beneficiaries
  • Assist drafting letters and data entry of intake forms as necessary
  • Overall responsible for the purchasing, distribution and recording of stationary
  • Assist in the process of identification of both locations for interventions and paralegals of the Community-Based Paralegal Network in both Luhansk oblast according to the Proposals, Concept Notes and plans agreed upon between NRC/ICLA and Donors/Senior Management;
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by ICLA PM/ICLA CBPN Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in documentation preparation, administrative tasks, organizing events
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own skills/profile
  • Good reporting and analytical skills
  • Advanced PC user (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, KOBO etc.)
  • Experience working in humanitarian/development organization or local non-governmental organization would be an asset
  • Good knowledge of the Ukrainian and Russian languages
  • Knowledge of English would be an asset
  • High education (especially with legal background) would be an asset
  • Experience in case management and record keeping
  • Previous experience working in volunteer-based projects will be a decisive advantage
  • Experience cooperating with self-government institutions would be considered as an advantage
  • Understanding of laws and regulations related to internal displacement and other conflict-related issues would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of the context in Ukraine
  • Knowledge of the context in East Ukraine, especially regarding the contact-line communities.

We offer:

Contract period: till 31st December 2020, upon availability of funding

Salary/benefits: According to NRC country policy, medical insurance, training opportunities, 7,5 h. working day

Duty station: Kurakhove, Ukraine
