Job Title: National Consultant on Livestock Policy

General Description of task(s) and objectives to be achieved

Under the overall supervision of the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, Lead Technical Officer (LTO), and in close collaboration with the Regional SDG Advisor and the FAO Team in Ukraine, the National Consultant will:

(1)   Support the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (MoAPF), in cooperation with other relevant stakeholders, on SDG implementation, with specific focus on the livestock sector:

• Finalize development of a report to assess SDG coverage and gaps in policy and statistical frameworks related to the livestock sector, to provide advice on the alignment with SDGs, as well as to assess the progress in the achievement of selected targets (which could feed in the Voluntary National Review 2020).
• Develop the content for a visibility material (e.g. leaflet, brochure, video) on SDGs and the livestock sector in partnership with Сommunication Сonsultant in FAOUA Office to promote SDG advocacy at the national level.

 (2)   Elaborate a two-year Action Plan to strengthen SDG implementation and monitoring, with a special focus on the livestock sector:

• Prepare an Action for MoAPF and other relevant stakeholders with key actions to undertake to accelerate SDG achievement in the livestock sector, drawing on the main findings from the report (task 1) and the awareness raising workshop organized in December 2019.

Organize a national workshop to validate the Action Plan with the participation of the Ministry and other relevant stakeholders.
