Корпус Миру США в Україні шукає Language & Intercultural Competence Facilitators.

Peace Corps Ukraine seeks qualified and motivated candidates for the short-term, temporary positions of Language and Intercultural Competence Facilitators (LCFs). LCFs are responsible for teaching intensive Ukrainian (or Russian) language and culture to small groups of Americans using a Peace Corps curriculum and methodologies. Successful candidates will be required to take part in a mandatory paid training in Kyiv oblast. During the training, they will learn how to teach Ukrainian (or Russian) to Americans using Peace Corps language materials. After successful completion of the training, candidates will teach the curriculum during a 10-week training in Zhytomyr region. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required.

Employment Dates: Employment will take place in two locations:

  • August 13-August 20 – Paid training in Kyiv oblast
  • August 21-October 29 – Paid teaching assignment in Zhytomyr region.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Ukrainian (or Russian) lessons for a small group (5-6) of Americans
  • Provides support to Americans in cultural adjustment
  • Assesses progress in language learning and provides regular feedback
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with local host families

Requirements:

  • A university degree in linguistics, education, or related field;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Ukrainian (or Russian) and English;
  • 1 year of teaching experience preferred;
  • Experience working with foreigners
  • Experience working as part of a team;
  • Strong cross-cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • IDPs and/or individuals from the conflict-affected areas are encouraged to apply
  • Willingness to work a flexible 6-day/week (40 hours/week) schedule, including on Saturdays
