Background

UNOCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. UNOCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response effort.

Under the direct supervision of the International Information Management Officer, Information Management Associate (Mapping) will be working as part of the Information Management Unit and closely collaborating with the colleagues from Coordination Support and Public Information/Reporting unit as well as with respective field offices. The IMA will be an integral part a team of the Information Management Officers, Web/Database Associates and ICT specialists. 

The IMA will provide technical support in data visualization, harmonization and comparability, map development as well as development, maintenance and improvement of reporting outputs. IMA will ensure that the quality of data produced by the Information Management Unit corresponds to the highest standards and that any data gaps are eliminated.
