Position Title: Intern for the NATO Liaison Office
Deadline for applications: 10 Feb 2019
Anticipated starting date: April-May 2019
Working hours: full time
Duration: 6 months

The NATO Representation to Ukraine (NRU) was established in 2016 and is comprised of two distinct offices - the NATO Liaison Office (NLO) and the NATO Information and Documentation Centre (NIDC). Work at the NRU is a challenging opportunity for highly motivated students/recent graduates to learn about NATO-Ukraine co-operation first-hand and gain valuable work experience in the fast-paced international environment of a growing diplomatic mission. The NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine (NLO) facilitates and coordinates political and military activities of NATO-Ukraine cooperation, including those within the framework of the NATO-Ukraine Commission (NUC) Committees and Processes, Joint Working Groups, Trust Funds and capacity building programs. NLO is currently looking to recruit an Intern.

The successful candidate will be offered an allowance and will be expected to make a commitment of 6 months (full time).

POSITION DESCRIPTION

NATO LIAISON OFFICE (NLO) INTERN

SCOPE OF WORK AND RELATED DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

-        Provide administrative and logistical support to meetings and conferences.

-        Maintain up-to-date internal paper and electronic files related to administrative issues.

-        Assist with scheduling and logistical arrangements.

-        Perform a wide range of office support and administrative functions.

-        Assist in drafting and preparing official letters.

-        Attend meetings, conferences and other events, take notes and write reports.

-        Perform research, analysis and drafting tasks.

-        Translate documents into English/Ukrainian.

-        Meet and escort visitors.

-        Perform other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 Applicants should be pursuing a degree at a higher educational institution of recognized standing (preferably in International Relations, Political Science, social sciences, law or a related discipline) or have graduated within the last 2 years.

 Professional fluency in Ukrainian and English;

 Ability to work in organized manner, meet deadlines and work in a team;

Excellent written and oral communication skills required;

 Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, Internet);

 Applicants should possess Ukrainian citizenship.
