Project Summary: 

USAID/Ukraine Energy Security Project (ESP) is USAID funded project operating country-wide with the mission to enhance Ukraine’s energy security, to improve the energy legal and regulatory environment and to increase resilience of energy supply, which will help Ukraine to achieve broad-based, resilient economic development to sustain country’s democracy. ESP will work closely with the Government of Ukraine (GOU) and the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC) to correctly implement EU directives-based and competitive energy markets. By doing so, Ukraine will facilitate private sector-led energy investments, increase renewable energy generation and provide secure, reliable, and affordable energy for all Ukrainians.

Position Summary:

IT Specialist will play a lead role in effective IT support and exceptional customer service to ESP team operations. This role reports into the local office while maintaining a strong working relationship with the corporate IT team. IT Specialist will report to the Project Operations Director & Corporate Home Office. This position is based in Kyiv.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve technical issues for desktop and shared IT services, software, printers, communication technologies and network devices and systems, including security systems for all Kyiv office operations.
  • Escalate issues to Tetra Tech IT support where required, owning issues through to completion.
  • Install and maintain Standard Operating Environment, hardware and related equipment.
  • Manage user accounts (create, rename, disable, delete, grant/revoke rights).
  • Fully comply with all instructions and directions issued by Tetra Tech IT management. 
  • Manage software, anti-spyware, anti-virus, anti-SPAM and windows update initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation relating to requests for support, cause of issue, FAQs and research conducted to close tickets.
  • Support local office clients both over the phone and face to face.
  • Liaise with corporate IT team for escalation or assistance with IT issues.
  • Work closely with corporate IT team to support standards, including but not limited to security and access granted to corporate systems.
  • Foster a strong working relationship with local business leaders to enable a two way channel of communications between IT and the business.
  • Co-ordinate hardware repair and replacement, suppliers and other vendors and the procurement of IT equipment including laptops, cellphones, and security systems.
  • Provide IT on-boarding services to new staff.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in an IT environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, email and unified communication technologies
  • Experience in O365 environment preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills High level
  • ITIL Certification
  • Tertiary qualifications in an IT discipline or related field
  • Technical certifications e.g. MSCE
  • Other industry recognized technical certifications
