The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), a non-profit international organization, supports citizens’ right to participate in free and fair elections. Since 1987, IFES has worked in over 145 countries - from developing democracies, to mature democracies.

To increase the ability of the Ukrainian CEC to interact directly with international media, observers, donors and diplomatic missions, and to facilitate exchange of experience between Ukrainian CEC and international EMBs, IFES conducts tailored, thematic English-language communications trainings for CEC Secretariat staff. By reducing this important communication barrier, IFES believes confidence in and transparency of the CEC will be promoted to a greater degree. Such communications trainings are to incorporate thematic priority areas, including accessibility topics and gender equality.

IFES is seeking Freelance tutor for English-language Speaking Club for the next twelve months, with the possibility of extension.

The Tutor will be responsible for developing a timeline and training scenarios, as well as for conducting during a 12-month period a series of training in form of Speaking Club to improve both language and communication skills of the participants. The training will be organized on the weekly basis on thematic topics should be defined in close cooperation with IFES.

SCOPE OF WORK:

• Developing detailed work-plan for a series of requested trainings would be conducted on weekly basis in close cooperation with IFES and the CEC Secretariat;
• Designing specific interactive training courses, including timeframe and curricula in accordance with trainees’ initial level of language proficiency;
• Interim progress testing;
• Certification of the training graduates.

Requirements:

1. At least 5 years of working experience as an English tutor is a must.
2. Ability to train people with different levels of English (from beginner to upper intermediate) is a must.
3. Certificate of English level (C1 or C2) is a must.
4. Good command in Microsoft Office programs.
5. Foreign education background or experience in working in educational sector abroad will be a plus.
6. Experience in provided language trainings for state employees will be a plus.
7. Good understanding of issues related to elections and democracy development process, including accessibility and gender equality topics will be a plus.

• Letter of interest with the tentative price for one academician hour;
• At least 3 business references to confirm previous experience, and
• Scanned copies to confirm the Private Entrepreneur legal status with the relevant code of business activities (KVED)
• Good understanding of issues related to elections and democracy development process would be a plus.
