German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations owned by the German Federal Government.
GTZ is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of a Harm Reduction Manager for the HIV/AIDS Prevention Projects in the frame of an agreement between German and Ukrainian Ministries of Health
Qualification:
- Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, very good level of written and spoken English (German is an advantage)
- Background in social sciences (Education, Psychology, Sociology)
- Good understanding of the Harm Reduction approach; understanding of roles of those organizations involved in the Harm Reduction field in Ukraine
- Knowledge of the current situation of the Harm Reduction
- Experience of cooperation with governmental and non-governmental Ukrainian organizations and national and international stakeholders
- Ability to work under minimum supervision; experience in working as part of a team would be highly desirable
- Have proactive approach to work and provide continuous follow up on the activities.
Experience: At least five years of professional experience in HIV/AIDS prevention field, some of which should have been in Harm Reduction and gained at the national or international level.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Developing and emphasizing of Harm Reduction approaches on regional and national level
- Technical supervision and technical assistance of project contractors and consultants
- Application of multisectoral and coordinated approach in co-operation with donors, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other partners
- Work with partners to develop, maintain and activate arrangements for field based support in the Harm Reduction
- Serving as a focal point and coordinator for Harm Reduction activities on oblast level within the project mandate
- Project representation at the stakeholders meetings, including state bodies - Continuous monitoring of Harm Reduction activities and participating in intermediate and final evaluation of the project, its review and provision of technical inputs on reports
- Participating in experience sharing workshops in frames of the project at national and international level
