Старший фінансовий менеджер у Save the Children (Слов’янськ)

The Senior Finance Coordinator will provide treasury and financial services and support to all Ukraine Offices, as SCI scales up their emergency response in Ukraine. The Senior Finance Coordinator will be primarily responsible for processing non-cash transactions and record keeping in compliance with the SCI financial policies and procedures and in line with local law requirements. This person will assist in reporting to HQ, Donors and local tax authorities and ensuring that SCI tax obligations are fulfilled in accordance with the law and regulations of Ukraine.


Reports to: Finance Controller

Staff directly reporting to this post: Senior Finance & Grants Officer, Finance Officers, Finance Assistant.


Financial Accountability:

  • Make disbursement/payments to payees based on duly approved documents
  • Make sure that all payments are supported with appropriate back-up documents
  • Ensure the security of all cash and assets (e.g.: regular cash and bank reconciliation)
  • Review and ensure its accuracy of wire transfer orders for payments for material, supplies and services procured
  • Regularly collect notes, statement and cash from the bank, prepare the bank reconciliations
  • Generate entries into the accounting system; prepare vouchers using appropriate coding and insert entries into the system on regular basis
  • Review general ledger on a monthly basis and ensure accurate coding, make required changes when and as required
  • Assist in preparing reports to HQ, tax authorities and other stakeholders
  • Ensure that the format, content and timeliness of the reports to tax authorities are compliant with the country law
  • Maintain proper filing system for all finance documentation
  • Take appropriate steps to minimize the risk of fraud or theft.
  • Support the development of operational and programme budgets when required
  • Lead on the month end closing and reporting
  • Regularly check trial balances and ensure accounts are cleared on a regular basis
  • Update and coordinate any issues to Finance Controller
  • Coordinate the daily work of finance unit ensure all deliverables are met on time and smoothly
  • Coordinate with SC Centre on all abroad payments
  • Review and Financial Monitoring of Local Partners
  • Review the grant adjustments before posting them in the system
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor

  • Degree in higher level of education, preferably in Economy, Accounting or Finance Management
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in finance, legal support, audit etc.

  • Computer literate (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and discretion with confidential information

  • Knowledge or experience of NGO work desirable
