United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Regional Representation in Kyiv is looking for energetic, highly qualified and experienced persons for a position of:

Receptionist / Translator

1. Act as a switchboard operator, answer to incoming calls, provide general information, transfer calls to concerned officer;
2. Receive / screen and assist visitors / clients. Adopt tactful attitude to inform and convince interlocutors to accept unforseen situations, such as waiting longer than expected, meet with a different officer than expected, etc;
3. Interpret and/or translate from newspapers, written reports, magazines etc.;
4. Interpret oral conversations, discussions and interviews especially when attending meetings with UNHCR officials;
5. Arrange meetings, both internal and external, and take minutes/notes with follow up translation into English, Ukrainian or Russian when needed;
6. Prepare written communication, letters to governmental, non-governmental and other partner agencies, and ensure their translation in adequate quality in English, Ukrainian or Russian language;
7. Utilise office equipment. Perform other duties as required

Qualification requirements: Secondary education, good computer skills, excellent writing skills in English, Russian and Ukrainian are required for this position. At least 3 years of the previous relevant experience.
