Organization: International Charitable Organization Community Wellbeing (Heifer-Ukraine)

Function: Within the Heifer-Ukraine mission and the Ukraine program’s focus and key priority areas, to provide fundraising, and resource development to develop continuing growth supported by different types of international and local resources.

Responsibilities:

A. Develop and implement a fundraising plan and strategy that will enable the Ukraine program to tap resources, both local and overseas

B. Constantly update fundraising plan related to resource development with corresponding strategy, priorities, objectives and specific goals

C. Development of new project concepts within the scope of Heifer’s mission and the Ukraine program focus that would be of interest to in-country and international funding sources

D. Develop proposals that will enable the country program to provide continued support to its partners

E. Tap government line agencies as well as private donors as resources for fundraising, develop partnership and collaboration in project implementation

F. Put in place a system of consolidating all reports pertaining to project partners’ counterparts, in-country raised funds, etc.

G. Gather information and possibilities of agencies, organizations and other groups that could assist in the completion of Heifer-Ukraine’s mission

H. Train appropriate program staff and program partners in fundraising

I. Report to the Country Director on a regular basis regarding the status of resource development. Prepare consolidated quarterly and annual reports on resource development

Experience:

• University education in public or business administration, economics, sociology or related field; plus five (5) years office experience required; other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
• A specialized course on fundraising is a plus.
• Experience in writing project proposals and obtaining grants is a must.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in English and Ukrainian, both spoken and written, other languages a plus.
• Computer proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail and internet
• Ability and willingness to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent leadership qualities and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and writing skills including strong attention to detail
• Ability to cooperate effectively and harmoniously with project partners and donors organizations
• Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork and cooperation
• Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
• Understanding of not-for-profit organizations’ main principles, including donor principles
• Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and beliefs, and to gender equity
• Basic understanding and sensitivity to issues associated with vulnerable groups of society, poverty reduction, ending hunger and protection of environment
