In 2012, the Swedish Fundraising Council and the Polish Fundraising Association are cooperating in organizing the 6th International Conference of Fundraising in Poland, to be held on May 9-10, 2012, at the Business Center Club in Warsawa.

The event is under the auspices of the European Fundraising Association.

The two-day conference covers a wide range of topics led by 30 trainers including Paulette Maehara, CAE, CFRE (USA), Christine von Sydow, Swedish Fundraising Council (Sweden), Mette Holm - President of the EFA (Denmark), Tony Myers, Myers & Associates (Canada) Janina Ochojska (Polish Humanitarian Action), but only from one perspective: how to make effective and ethical fundraising a reality?

A range of Polish trainers and speakers will give way to practical skillshare and exchange of experiences to ensure that participants will leave with a set of useful ideas and good practices to implement at home.

The 5th International Conference of Fundraising, in October 2011, attended by nearly 150 participants from over 100 NGOs, both from Poland and elsewhere from Europe. The 6th edition of the International Conference of Fundraising provides room for an intensive and empowering opportunity to unwind the fundraising potential of professionals working towards the mission of grassroots and mainstream, local and international organizations and intitiatives.

This year’s conference focuses on providing fundraisers and NGO representatives with practical knowledge and skills, offering all-round, efficient solutions to those questions that many fundraisers ask themselves frequently:

The Polish fundraising context may be interesting for fundraisers in other Central-, Eastern- and Southern-European countries, for it is a rather new profession in Poland as well, where dependence on foreign major donor grants and institutional support has been overwhelming for the non-profit sector in the past two decades.

Conference participants will get an insight into the advantages of cultivating this profession strategically and the importance of building a community of professional fundraisers for the financial sustainability of the whole of the non-profit sector.
