Стажування для журналістів від Knight International Journalism Fellowships

The Knight International Journalism Fellowships program makes lasting, visible changes that improve the quality and free flow of news in the public interest around the world. Funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the year-long program sends international media professionals to countries where there are opportunities to promote reliable, insightful journalism that holds officials accountable.

Knight International Fellows work in these key regions: Asia/Pacific, Eurasia/Former Soviet Union, Latin America, Middle East/North Africa, and Sub-Saharan African.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Fluency in the local language of the host country
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project focus and experience in project medium/media
  • Minimum of 10 years journalism experience
  • Training experience is a plus
  • Fellowship is open to any nationality
  • Fellowship duration is a minimum of one year, unless otherwise specified

An orientation program for new Knight International Journalism Fellows providing information about the Fellowships and training in digital media, mentoring techniques and monitoring and evaluation methods takes place twice annually.

Region: Global

Project Description: The Fellow will help develop a long-term strategic plan, craft a focused mission and come up with fundraising and marketing strategies for a global media development group.

The goal: to transform the group into a vibrant, self-sustaining network. Working from a base that permits travel to the five target regions, the Fellow also will help the group and its members build support through a global conference, regional conferences and awards programs. The Fellow should have the entrepreneurial and business-management experience needed to help reshape the global organization and strengthen its network of regional members. A background in journalism and media management is preferred.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years combined experience in journalism and/or media management
  • Experience in strategic planning for non-profit NGOs
  • Experience in international media development preferred
  • Experience in new media technology preferred
  • Experience in both developed and developing nations preferred
  • Experience in journalism or media management preferred
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in at least one other international language is preferred
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
