DAI Global, LLC (DAI) is seeking a qualified professional to fill the long-term position of a Leasing Market Development Expert for the USAID Financial Sector Transformation Project (FST). 

The Financial Sector Transformation Activity is looking for a candidate to fill the following long-term position of a: 

Leasing Market Development Expert - The employee will support project implementation with a focus on development of leasing as a key tool for SME to get access to finance. It is expected that the employee will work with the local and international NBFI experts to enhance NBFI financing, including product development, training program and expand SME financing readiness.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in business, economics, finance, law or related subject area, advanced degree preferred;

• At least three (3) years of work/professional experience in the Ukrainian financial sector;

• At least one (1) year of work/professional experience in leasing;

• Practical experience with leasing, SME finance, other  nonbank financial institutions, government authorities;

• Understanding of leasing, SME financing, product development, policy and taxation issues related to NBFI finance;

• Ukrainian and English writing and spoken proficiency is preferred.

   The Financial Sector Transformation Activity in Ukraine is a four-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and managed by DAI Global LLC (DAI). The primary goals of the FST project are: improvement of the legal and regulatory framework for Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs); increased financial intermediation especially to SMEs; consumer protection and increased public confidence in and understanding of the financial system; development of the regulatory environment for capital and commodities markets; improved financial inclusion and expanded digital finance solutions; and support for a balanced and sustainable pension system.

  Development of the leasing market and improvement of leasing tools for SMEs’ access to finance is the priority area of the Project’s Non-Banking Financial Institutions Component. This includes legal and regulatory support, sharing of international best practices, market research and other surveys, staff and other training, and improvement of consumer knowledge of leasing in comparison to other financial services.

   The Leasing Market Development Expert will be responsible for the development and promotion of leasing as a key financial tool for SME finance.
