МБО «СОС Дитяче містечко» шукає спеціаліста із захисту прав дітей

Дедлайн - 10 листопада 2016 р. МБО «СОС Дитяче містечко» оголошує конкурс на заміщення вакансії спеціаліста із захисту прав дітей (далі - англ.).

Requirements:

  • Preferred studies: advanced studies in social sciences such as political sciences, development studies, international relations - also to be considered: background in child welfare, pedagogy, psychology or other relevant qualification and previous experiences.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in the social development, child or human rights NGO sector, the UN, the EU, or other relevant experiences.
  • Previous experience in designing and carrying out advocacy work (advocacy planning, campaigning), preferably in the field of children’s rights.
  • Commitment and ability to anchor advocacy in the culture, structures and systems of a programme-based organisation.
  • Good knowledge on child welfare and protection issues (ideally experience in De-institutionalisation processes), Child Rights and the UN monitoring system of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Well acquainted with the corresponding framework, policies and key-stakeholders (actors) in the system, i.e. used to working in a “Rights based approach”.
  • Knowledge on issues related to the United Nations, the European Union system, the Council of Europe, and on the functioning of the “civil society” in the country/region, or willingness to learn about these issues.
  • Effective communication and networking skills.
  • Information and knowledge management skills (sharing good practices).
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).

Main responsibilities:

  • Define the advocacy priorities of the NA (National Association), based on external and internal analysis and in accordance with global and continental advocacy priorities.
  • Monitor and analyse trends and developments of the national child care legislation and practice which might affect the work of the NA, and suggest advocacy actions accordingly.
  • Propose strategic goals, targets, actions and budgets for the advocacy work of the NA, and include the main advocacy activities and projects in the NA National Plan.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the implementation of national advocacy projects and related partnership activities in the country.
  • Represent the organisation in external conferences, working groups and networks.
  • Identify capacity-building needs of the NA staff regarding advocacy and related issues and organise advocacy trainings.
  • Ensure the information flow within the NA on external issues related to our target group, as well as on policy trends within the child welfare system in the country.
  • Document advocacy good practices.
  • Represent the organisation in external continental and international networks and meetings upon invitation by GSC advocacy co-workers.
  • Give input and provide feedback to internal advocacy tools, policies and guidelines upon invitation by GSC advocacy co-workers.
