In April, Thanks to Jimmy Hill, we will have an opportunity to discuss some vital life issues with Rose Puthenpurackal.

RosePuthenpurackal is a Master’s in Political Science and an avid shoe-string traveler. She has taught English in four continents and has worked with film-makers in the festival circuit and artists on culture-specific social issues. After hitch-hiking to Kiev from Dublin, Rose has become motivated to learn Ukrainian-Russian Language, Kickboxing, and developing dynamic learning models with short-stories and dissection of ideas in prose.

At the first session together with Rose we will find answers to the following questions. 

  • Is it pressure from corporate culture or an expression of our need to fulfill our potential?
  • Are leaders born or made?
  • Is it more attached to the idea of our specialness or service to others?
  • Might being a leader be an inverse of a person’s greatest fear- to be the lowest on the hierarchical chain?
  • Does culture sometimes cultivate people with messiah complexes or low self-esteem? How?
  • In what real sense are we special?

  • How are elderly people seen in your respective cultures?
  • Can you typify an elderly person, their activities, and stereotypes in your country or other countries?
  • Why are elderly so different from country to country?
  • How do you define ‘self-progress’?
  • Do you like yourself more now or in the past?
  • What kind of person do you imagine yourself to be when you are 70?
  • What do you think is the underlying fear behind some cultures’ dread of aging? Is this a contemporary fear or has it existed throughout history?
