This is an open call for ideas using immersive storytelling to discover new ways to engage audiences and advance the field of journalism. From May 30 to June 28, we invite you to submit your idea to win a share of $200,000, which we will award at the Online News Association conference in Austin, Texas Sept. 13-15, 2018.

The Online News Association, Knight Foundation and Google News Initiative are partnering to launch this open call for ideas, offering ten grants of up to $20,000 each to test, refine and build out a project.

In addition to the funding opportunity, Challenge winners become part of the Journalism 360 ecosystem and have access to our ambassador team and a growing network of immersive storytellers. Our goal is to build a community of people who are passionate about new ways of storytelling and are excited to learn from one another and the community at large.
