Regional Programme Advisor - Alternative Care and Prevention

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organization for over 130 SOS Children’s Villages associations worldwide. For the Regional Office CEE/CIS we are looking for a committed Regional Programme Advisor - Alternative Care and Prevent.

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for over 130 SOS Children’s Villages associations worldwide. As a non-governmental social development organisation we work in the field of alternative child care and prevention of separation of children from their families. For the Regional Office CEE/CIS we are looking for a committed.

Regional Programme Advisor -

Alternative Care and Prevention (f/m)

Location: Kiev, Ukraine

40 hrs/week

Responsibilities:

  • Supports programme development in SOS Member Associations in CEE/CIS in the area of alternative care and prevention of separation of children from their families
  • Provides expertise and builds capacity of SOS Member Associations in: implementing different forms of prevention and alternative care programmes including foster care; methods of working with children with challenging behaviour and affected by trauma; and supporting states in child welfare reform and De-I processes.
  • Monitors and supports the implementation of organisational and international quality standards, policies, and guidelines in SOS Member Associations, including evaluations and audits
  • Contributes to the development of organisational policies and guidelines

Requirements:

  • University degree education in social sciences, social pedagogy, psychology
  • At least 5 years work experience in the field of child welfare, child protection and well-being development programmes
  • Experience in supporting the process of deinstitutionalization and reform of the child welfare systems in CEE/CIS
  • Strong experience in project planning, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in organising and holding workshops, meetings and trainings
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Russian
  • Readiness to travel at least 30% of working time
