Position title: Social worker on medical issues

Background

The charitable organization “Charity Foundation” Rokada “, founded in 2003, is implementing partner of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, carrying out social assistance projects for refugees and asylum seekers in Ukraine. One of the services is to provide support in the organization of medical treatment for the most vulnerable asylum seekers and refugees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the overall guidance of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Board of the Fund, the incumbent will be expected to be able to perform the following, prioritized according to operational requirements:

- Ensure access to health care (polyclinic, pharmacy, hospital);

- Medical file management;

- Health status monitoring;

- Accompaniment to medical facilities;

- Health advocacy;

- Patients’ counselling (phone, in-person);

- Schedule appointments (medical examinations, consultations);

- Keeping close cooperation with the UNHCR on medical / social issues regarding project implementation process (by e-mail performing billing information, providing reports about payments, treatment negotiation authorization letters and other correspondence);

- Process patients’ medical accounts; 

- Conducting medical documentation, financial, social and medical reports

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

 - University Social worker degree (Bachelor/Master);

Experience

- Minimum 2 years of working experience in implementing social programs;

- Is welcomed experience in volunteer activities in the social sphere (with children, with people who are in difficult life circumstances);

- Experience with an NGO is an advantage;

- Experience in writing business texts in English;

- Good knowledge of legislation on health protection and social policy;

- Fluent in Windows, Internet, MS Word and Excel

Languages

Excellent English, Ukrainian, and Russian (verbal and written);

Personal qualities:

- Stress resistance;

- Tolerance to people of different nationalities and different religious views;

- High level of responsibility;

- To be ready to irregular working day;

- Ability to react quickly in stressful situations
