Project Summary: 

The USAID/Ukraine Energy Security Project (ESP) is a United States Agency for International Development -funded project operating country-wide with the mission to enhance Ukraine’s energy security, improve the energy legal and regulatory environment and increase resilience of energy supply, which will help Ukraine to achieve broad-based, resilient economic development to sustain country’s democracy. ESP will work closely with the Government of Ukraine (GOU) and the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC) to correctly implement EU directives-based and competitive energy markets. By doing so, Ukraine will facilitate private sector-led energy investments, increase renewable energy generation and provide secure, reliable, and affordable energy for all Ukrainians.

Position summary & job purpose:   Provide technical writing, editing and formatting for project documents including reports and communications materials. Manage processes to store and maintain critical project and operational information.

Position responsibilities:

  • ·       Provide editing for technical reports and deliverables.
  • ·       Write project descriptions, outlines, success stories, contribute to newsletters.
  • ·       Collaborate with communications team to create blogs, articles, presentations and other new media to support outreach activities.
  • ·       Produce products that conform to USAID branding, documentation and quality assurance standards.
  • ·       Collaborate with graphic artist to create visually-appealing graphics and illustrations for reports and project deliverables.
  • ·       Create/manage templates to streamline processes.
  • ·       Conduct periodic training on best practices in report development, editing tips to ensure high quality deliverables, and other related training to improve the writing ability of our team.
  • ·       Develop, maintain and manage a knowledge management system for collecting and tracking project deliverables and operational efforts.
  • ·       Perform other related duties as assigned.                
  • Fluency in a second language, preferably Ukrainian or Russian 

Valued but not required KSA’s:

  • ·       Experience writing content on energy within the context of international development.
  • ·       Experience working on international development projects funded by USAID or other international donor agencies.
  • ·       Experience in using graphics programs.
  • ·       Graduate degree in English.
  • ·       Fluency in a second language, preferably Ukrainian or Russian.

Physical demands & work environment:

  • ·       Office setting
  • ·       Some travel in Ukraine may occasionally be required

*There is no closing date for this position. However, Tetra Tech may elect so create a short list and interview persons if and as the need arises in the project.
