Position summary

Finance Officer services will be solicited on full-time basis to ensure the smooth finance operations of IREX office in Ukraine and provide support to Director of Administration and Finance.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

General duties & responsibilities

  • Review program invoices, contracts, local staff TERs, and other payments
  • Compile monthly wire requests and submit for Director of Admin & Finance and Country Director review and approval
  • Responsible for field expense reporting in QuickBooks (QB); review and submit to Country Director and Director of Admin & Finance monthly expense reports and payroll spreadsheets to be reported to DC
  • Payroll: consolidate payroll information from accounting registers into one IREX Payroll Break Down Excel file for QB reporting on a monthly basis
  • Ensure compliance with IREX Finance and Grants Policies & Procedures
  • Manage subgrant financial reporting, review budgets and financial reports of subgrantees, complete subgrants agreements
  • Manage VAT exemption reporting, consult staff and vendors on VAT-exemption for technical assistance projects regulations
  • Assist Senior Accountant as required
  • Assist Business Development team in preparing/reviewing budgets for new programs as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and experience

  • University degree in Finance / Accounting / Audit;
  • At least 2 years of nonprofit finance experience in a relevant position;
  • A strong work ethic and attention to details;
  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office;
  • Efficiency with 1C accounting program;
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks software is a plus;
  • Must have strong intercultural and communications skills;
  • Proficient level of written and spoken English language is a must;
  • Must be able to multi-task and maintain a calm, friendly demeanor under stressful situations.

Physical demands:

  • Tasks involve some physical effort, i.e. some standing and walking, or frequent light lifting (2.5-5 kg.); or minimal dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs, or body in the operation of office equipment. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard.
  • Extended period of sitting at a workstation or desk. Manual dexterity to work efficiently on a computer keyboard.

Task requires:

  • Sound perception and discrimination
  • Visual perception and discrimination
  • Oral communications ability.
