SOS Children’s Villages International (SOS CVI) is the umbrella organisation for over 130 SOS Children’s Villages associations worldwide. As a non-governmental social development organisation we help children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education and health. The organisation also advocates for children’s rights.

Regional Project Manager (f/m)

Based in Kiev, Ukraine

Task and Responsibilities:

50% of the time - Project Management

  • Provide overall leadership and management of regional project YES funded by the European Union;
  • Ensure high quality project implementation with due respect to donor requirements and SOS CVIs regulations and standard;
  • With key project staff and stakeholders, ensure project strategic objectives and results are fully accomplished and meet donor requirements;
  • Maintain written track record of all project-related communication and agreements;
  • Keep all project-related documentation on file;
  • Organize project-related meetings.

30% of the time - Monitoring and reporting

  • Develop and oversee project monitoring system, using data analysis as the basis for measuring performance;
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the project’s lead applicant and report on the project’s progress;  
  • Supervise overall implementation, reporting and evaluation of the Project YES and oversee program communication strategy;
  • Review on regular basis project details, deliverables and schedules as per project Implementation Plan;
  • Ensure progress and final reports are produced on time, in quality manner as per donor requirements;  

10% of the time - Learning and capacity building

  • Facilitate and document learning across all aspects of the project to improve planning and decision-making;
  • Outline good practices as well as common challenges;  
  • Ensure wide dissemination and visibility of project achievements;

10% of the time - Leadership and team management

  • Lead Project Implementation team towards the achievements of project’s objectives with high quality standards;  
  • In line with SOS CVIs standards for leadership framework provide functional leadership for project staff;
  • Support professional and personal development of staff.

Requirements:

  • University degree in economics, management or social sciences (Master degree in relevant field would be an advantage);
  • At least 3-5 years of management experience, preferably on European Union projects;
  • Significant experience of working in the development context, preferably on implementation of European Union or any other bilateral cooperation funded projects;
  • Experience in finace, operations and team management;
  • Experience of project/program concept development and management;
  • Familiarity with European Union PRAG regulations;  
  • Practice in community development, consultation and partnership development; 
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft suite;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Russian language;
  • Willingness to travel up to 20-30%.

Provision of Contract:

The successful candidate will be based in Kiev, on a full-time basis, for a period of 33 months (three months of probation period).

The Regional project manager will be part of the International Office CEE/CIS Public Funding team and reports to the Head of Public Funding.
