IFES Ukraine requires the services of Copy Editors, working closely in coordination with IFES Ukraine, to review final drafts of IFES’ text materials on civic education and political reform to ensure they’re free of errors and the writing is easy to read and fits the publication’s editorial style.

Period of Performance: July 10, 2018 – July 10, 2019

Level of Effort: up to 900 pages (1800 characters with spaces each page)

Job Responsibilities:
-Fixing any grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors;
-Double checking that names, places and organizations are spelled properly and that facts, dates and statistics are accurate;
-Including titles, references where needed, and highlighting areas that may be missing relevant information;
-Checking footnotes, illustrations and captions are correct;
-Providing input on enhancing text’s readability, conciseness and style;
-Meetings with IFES Ukraine team as needed.

Qualifications:
-Native-level English;
-Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or other relevant field;
-Excellent written English, including good spelling and grammar;
-Attention to detail;
-The ability to maintain high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines;
-Experience working with civil society and/or government agencies in this area is a plus;
-Previous experience of copy editing civic education materials is a plus.
