Експерт здійснюватиме аналіз чинного законодавства щодо захисту прав споживачів в Україні та ЄС, а також консультативну допомогу у розробці законодавства, що визначатиме нові правові рамки для цієї галузі. Consumer Safety and Protection Expert will provide analysis of current legislation on consumer rights protection in Ukraine and in the EU and advisory assistance in drafting legislation shaping new legal framework for this area with regard to the EU standards.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Master degree in Law, Political Sciences or other relevant field.
• High level of knowledge of legislation in the field of consumer rights protection.
• Knowledge of principles of normative work and analysis of by-laws.
• Proven skills in drafting by-laws.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian and English with highest standard written literacy.
• Knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.
• Experience of work with legislation on consumer rights protection.
• Experience of drafting and amending legal acts.
• Experience of policy development would be an advantage.

Indicative duties and responsibilities:

• Analysis of legislation.
• Expert support in elaboration of a legal framework for consumer rights protection.
• Analysis of the regulatory impact of by-laws in the areas of consumer rights protection.
• Analysis and development of recommendations on harmonization of the by-laws.
• Drafting amendments to regulations.
• Work with the legal departments of the beneficiary ministry, others state bodies, local authorities, and non-governmental organizations.
• Preparation of presentations and analysis of legal acts.

Contract Duration and Timing:

Full time position based in Kyiv. The total duration of the consultancy is expected to be 6 months with possible extension.
