Рада Європи оголосила конкурс на посади асистентів проектів в Офісі Ради Європи в Україні. Серед обов'язкових вимог: відмінне знання української та англійської мов, повна середня освіта, щонайменше 2 роки професійного досвіду, національність одної з 47 країн-членів Ради Європи, вік до 65 років (на дату закриття вакансії). Job mission

Under the authority of the Head of Office, and the supervision of the respective Heads of Division, the Project Assistants carry out multiple assignments to help meet the overall and specific objectives for the implementation of projects in the Council of Europe fields of activities, in compliance with the Organisation’s values, regulations and/or donor requirements.

Employment is limited to the duration of the Projects.

Key activities

The Project Assistants perform the following tasks in accordance with the Organisation’s procedures, guidelines and priorities, with a concern for quality, efficiency, accuracy and confidentiality:

  • assist the project team in the implementation, preparation and organisation of the project activities, completing all necessary arrangements in advance and in a timely manner;
  • follow up work or activities in progress and report to the supervisor, especially if and when problems occur;
  • provide logistical, financial and administrative assistance to the project team, as well as experts;
  • make practical arrangements connected to project activities (travel, visa requests, accommodation, meeting venue bookings, local transport arrangements, interpretation etc.);
  • draft and format correspondence, memos, documents, contract letters and financial arrangements in line with instructions and relevant procedures;
  • prepare the submission of financial supporting documents for final payment; provide any other financial information and documentation as requested;
  • provide ad-hoc linguistic assistance and arrange translation and interpretation as required;
  • assist headquarters-based staff and experts when carrying out tasks and missions in the field or working on project related matters;
  • organise and keep project documents and file up to date (activity planning, official reports, expertise and other documents, outgoing and incoming correspondence, contact lists);
  • ensure the circulation of pertinent information and documents among the project team and the Office;
  • contribute to the efficient functioning of the office, in collaboration with colleagues and the direct project management;
  • carry out other tasks as may be required connected to the project implementation.

Please note that the incumbent may be required to perform other duties not listed in the vacancy notice.

Eligibility Requirements

This local recruitment procedure is open to applicants already present in Ukraine.

Only applicants who best meet the following criteria will be considered for shortlisting.

Qualifications:

  • Completed full course of general secondary education and appropriate professional qualifications.

Experience:

  • At least two years of relevant professional experience; experience of administrative duties.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian (mother tongue level);
  • Very good knowledge of one of the official languages (English);
  • Knowledge of French would be an advantage.

Nationality:

  • Nationality of host country or one of the 47 Council of Europe member states.

Age:

  • Under 65 years of age at the closing date of the vacancy notice.

Essential:

  • Professional and technical expertise
  • Excellent organisational skills; ability to work under pressure, deal with multiple tasks and respect deadlines;
  • Experience in carrying out project assistant duties in the framework of international or European co-operation projects would be an advantage;
  • Broad knowledge of the activities and procedures of the Council of Europe;
  • Sound computer skills of standard tools in office applications (word processing, presentation software, outlook, internet/intranet publications).

Information on the Projects:

The projects cover support in the three main pillars of the Council of Europe: human rights, rule of law and democracy, and include the specific areas of the judiciary, prison and criminal justice reform; human rights implementation; ethics and the fight against corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing; good governance; freedom of expression and freedom of the media; trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and children; gender equality; violence against women including domestic violence; and education.
