Under the direct supervision of the E&S Programme Coordinator and overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (COM) and the Head of Office in Kramatorsk, the Project Assistant (E&S) will be responsible for providing necessary support in the implementation of IOM’s emergency and stabilization projects of the IOM E&S team.
 
 Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Сontribute to the implementation of IOM Ukraine’s Emergency and Stabilization-related programming, including in post-conflict areas:
  • Support information gathering, data entry, analysis and reporting for Emergency and Stabilization initiatives.
  • Assist in the logistics and organization of Emergency and Stabilization-related activities and events (coordination meetings, presentations, discussions, visits, etc.).
  • Assist in contracting partner NGOs and in the procurement of goods and services.
  • Support project staff in regular reporting (IOM internal, IOM external, UN-related, including 3W and situation reporting), correspondence, publication and presentation materials.
  • Provide informal interpretation and written translation (English/Ukrainian, Russian as well) when necessary.
  • Draft official and unofficial correspondence in English and Ukrainian (Russian if necessary).
  • Take notes at relevant programme events.
  • Render support to programme visibility as necessary.
  • Undertake duty travel within Ukraine, including post-conflict areas pertinent for Emergency and Stabilization programming, on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform such other relevant duties as may be assigned.
  • IV. Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
 
  • High school diploma/certificate with four years of relevant work experience
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least two years of responsible work experience (degree in human rights, law, or international relations/development would be an advantage).
Experience
  • Experience of working with governmental authorities and NGOs is a distinct advantage;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issue of emergency response in Ukraine is an asset.
  • Advanced PC knowledge.
