Форум НДО в Україні запрошує до участі у дводенному тренінгу “Права людини та гуманітарне право: теорія та практика”, розробленого Центром міжнародного гуманітарного співробітництва (CIHC), Нью-Йорк, США, що відбудеться 2-3 жовтня 2017 року в Києві. Участь у тренінгу – унікальна можливість дводенного навчання у закордонних експертів із  прав людини та міжнародного гуманітарного права. Навчальні матеріали, харчування та проїзд учасників до місця проведення тренінгу забезпечують організатори. Дедлайн - 23 вересня 2017 р. (далі - англ.).

Ukraine NGO Forum invites you to participate in a “Human Rights and Humanitarian Law – Theory & Practice” 2-days training that is offered by the Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation (CIHC), New York, USA. The Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation provides various programs to prepare current and future aid workers with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in times of humanitarian crisis and disaster, combining both academic theory with the practical experience of humanitarian professionals.

When: October 2-3, 2017, 9:00-18:00
Where: Kyiv (venue to be announced for selected participants)

Language of the training: English 

Topics of the training:

• Practical aspects of human rights work in the field
• Introduction to the concept of human rights for humanitarian workers in the field, including human rights based approach
• Most important legal tools and related remedies
• Basics of international humanitarian law and international criminal law
• Basics of human rights monitoring

Target Audience:

We strongly encourage legal experts working with humanitarian NGOs or providing legal assistance for IDPs, national senior staff of international NGOs working humanitarian assistance, preferably managers that work on protection issues, directors and program managers of national NGOs working in humanitarian assistance and protection programs to apply for the training.

The training will be conducted by the facilitators Florian Razesberger (Expert lecturer and Course Director, Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs, Fordham University and the Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation; New York, USA) and Asa Solway (International lawyer with experience in international humanitarian law, human rights, rule of law and access to justice).

Trainers’ profiles:

Florian Razesberger, expert lecturer and course director at the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs, Fordham University, New York. Until the end of 2016, Florian worked as the Head of Human Dimension for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine. Previously he worked on human rights issues Kosovo, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Egypt and Macedonia. He also has been working for the International Criminal Court, Hague, Netherlands.

Asa Solway, former Rule of Law Adviser for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine. Asa has also worked with the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo, International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia,  Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone in Hague and the Government of Sierra Leone.
